Spheretech Solutions, Chennai, has launched Edusphere for training
individuals in these two emerging fields — in the form of
diploma in Games Programming and Diploma in Animation.
Edusphere will train students in back-end programming language,
game and design development, gaming engines, gaming data structure
and architecture after an introduction to the basic concepts of
designing.
The centres will have modern facilities and courseware, including
anytime access to laboratories.
According to Fredrick Basker, managing director, Edusphere, the
centre will also provide internships with development companies
and seminars and workshops with experts in the field.
They also have tie-ups with companies for placement.
"The gaming industry is expected to hit the $10 billion mark
by 2010. We will seek to fill the gap in the demand and supply
for manpower in these areas through innovative courses that address
the job market."
He said the diploma in animation programme will run three and
a half months and cost about Rs. 37,000, while the diploma in
games programme, a five-month course, will cost Rs. 43,000. New
batches start later this month.
