The Lecture classes were conducted in the North
Anjaneya Temple Street, in an old building. In the academic year
1954-55, it was shifted to the present campus. Workshops and Laboratories
started / being equipped in the present campus of the B.M.S. Engineering
College. As fully equipping the Laboratories was a time consuming
affair, laboratory training was imparted in the University College
of Engineering. The students took their practical examination also
there. In a very short period all the laboratories and workshops
were fully equipped and the University approved this college as a
center for all examinations including the practical examinations.
Before this college was started, there was only one Engineering
College in the state, namely the University Engineering College
with limited admission strength. To the great number of aspirants,
who could not take up engineering studies for the lack of availability
of seats, this college opened a new vista of hope for a bright
future. The students put their heart and soul into their work with
great enthusiasm.
