The Janatha Education Society is a Co-operative
venture dedicated to serve the general public in the field of education.
Beginning as a small unit, running only a pre-university college,
today after 25 years, it is an organisation managing nine institutions
ranging from kindergarten to the degree and post-degree level. About
5000 students study in its campus. This has been possible because
of the selfless services offered by the staff and the patronage of
the public. There is a constant endeavour to enhance the efficiency
of the services offered and to improve the quality of instruction
imparted in the different institutions run by the society. Several
Committees, governing councils and forums have been constituted by
the society to assist in the efficient functioning of these institutions.
The society started the Vivekananda Institute of Technology (V.I.T.)
in 1997. The institution was recognised by the A.I.C.T.E., New
Delhi in its letter No. F-770/53/262/ET/96 dated 4-9-97 and by
the Government of Karnataka, Bangalore vide G.O. No. ED 214 UBV
97 dated 12-11-97. It is affiliated to the Bangalore University.
