Established in 1817 by the missionaries of the Church Missionary Society, England, the CMS College is one of the earliest centres of Higher Education in India. The college is managed by the Madhya Kerala Diocese of the Church of South India. This Diocese was earlier an Anglican Diocese, till the merger of similar Dioceses occured in 1947.
