To spread the knowledge of Ayurveda and take its blessings to more number of people, Sri Varier formed a society in 1907 called Arya Vaidya Samajam, bringing together all leading Ayurvedic physicians in Kerala. A major offshoot was the establishment of an Ayurveda College at Calicut in 1917. When the Ayurveda Hospital was built at Kottakkal in 1924 the college was shifted to its nesssighbourhood, so that the students could gain practical experience in the treatment procedures. The college is now affiliated to the Calicut University.
