The College was
established in 1960 in memory of Rev. Joseph Peet one of the leading
C.M.S missionaries of England. The Diocese of Madhya Kerala Church
of South India manages the college. Sanctioned strength of the
college is 150.
Apart from the regular academic programmes, the major achievements of
the college have been starting of the Pedagogic Science Centre, Montessori
Training Centre, Computer Centre ad conducting Rengolsav - the
Inter University Training College Youth Festival, yearly science workshops
for the high school teachers of Alappuzha district, lecture series on
education psychology, weekly cultural programmes, general awareness classes
for the public, tutorial group programmes, 10-day food preservation and
nutrition classes organized by the Government of India, Interior Decoration
Classes by experts etc.
