Sree Narayana College,
Chempazhanthy was established by the Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam,
in the name of the great social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. The
college was formally inaugurated on 20th July 1964, by Sri. R.
Sankar, the then Chief Minister of Kerala. The College has over
2,300 students. It has a highly qualified faculty of eighty nine
teachers and a non-teaching staff strength of over forty.
Students from all departments have been consistently topping the University
examinations. During the academic year 1997-98 the first rank in BA Sociology
was secured by a student of this college.
Conscious of its inceptional obligation of imbibing and disseminating
the revolutionary ideal of “One Caste, One Religion, One God”,it
stands for ‘Enlightenment through Educations, and endeavors to
mould a humane, intellectually accomplished, morally awakened and socially
committed fraternity of young men and women.
