Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) was established in 1953 as the first Management Institute in India. It was set up with the co-operation of Calcutta University and the business community of the country. It formed an integral part of Government of India's efforts to promote professional management in Indian industry. Both Government of India and Government of West Bengal provide substantial grant to meet the expenses of the Institute
