Dr.MGR-Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women was established as per the wishes of Late Smt.Janaki Ramachandran, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who wished that a college for women as a tribute to her late husband Bharat Ratna Dr.M.G.Ramachandran be established in the Sathyabama MGR Maligai Campus. Her cherished vision took shape as eminent people like Shri. N.P.V.Ramasamy Udayar(Late), Shri Jeppiaar, Shri.N.C.Ragavachari and many well wishers from the field of education lent their shoulder for this noble cause.
