In the foothills of the Himalayas,
lies a small town called Roorkee. This town gained importance with
the establishment of third oldest Engineering College in the World--
Thompson College of Civil Engineering, which was established to
train Engineers for the construction of the railways, roads and
irrigation network. Since then the name has been changed to University
of Roorkee . The University awards Bachelor of Engineering, Master
of Engineering, and Ph.D. in Engineering and Sciences:
