The Jain Vishva Bharati Institute (JVBI) was founded
in 1970 under the inspiration of Acharya Shri Tulsi as an institution
of higher learning with inputs of moral as well as spiritual education
in all the courses offered both under formal as well as non formal
educational system. In March 1991, the Institute was declared 'Deemed
to be a University' under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission
(UGC) Act, 1956. The Institute aims at higher studies and research
in Jainology, Non-Violence, Prakrit Language and Literature, Science
of Living and Meditation.
