Alagappa Institute of Management (AIM) was established in December 1993 to contribute to the nation's economic development through high quality management education, research and training relevant and useful to industry, business, government and other developmental organisations. AIM has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the UGC, and the Tamil Nadu Government for its MBA programme. The Institute is a member of the Association of Indian Management Schools and the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). The Institute has a Placement Cell, headed by a Placement Officer, to provide placement services to its students and liaise between industry and the Institute. The institute has successfully placed the students of earlier batches of MBA programme at premier business organisations. Sakthi Group, a leading business house in Tamil Nadu, has instituted "Dr. N.Mahalingam Edowment" at the Institute for undertaking various development programmes for the students and the faculty.

THE MBA PROGRAMME

The Institute offers 2-year MBA programme and any graduate who has secured above 60% in his degree examination, is eligible for the programme. The two-year MBA programme is structured with two semesters each year. The first year courses are designed to provide basic knowledge and develop appropriate attitudes, values and skills required for professional managers. The Second year courses are designed to provide an opportunity to the students to develop an integrated approach to managerial problems, as well as to develop ttheir expertise in areas revelavant to their chosen career path. Various functional areas like personnel, production, finance, systems, e-business, operations, marketing, and insurance are included to give a wide choice of careers to the students. One of the unique features of the MBA programme of AIM is the Four Courses, titled "Management Seminar and Comprehensive Viva" that spread across all the four semesters of the programme. These courses have been designed primarily to enhance the managerial skills at various stages of developing an enterprise. Frequent "Meet the Manager" programme and industrial visits are organised for the students to have a feel for the organisational life.

Eligibility: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.

Selection is made on the basis of Entrance Test (TANCET), Group Discussion and Interview.

Last date for issue and receipt of Application is June.
