The emergence of the institution, the Dr.G.R.Damodaran College
of Science, is a fitting memorial to Prof. G.R.Damodaran who is
known for his imagination and vision. It is a significant recognition
for having dedicated his entire life to the cause of education
especially in the fields of Science, Engineering, Technology and
Management.
It is very difficult to enumerate the very many achievements of
Prof.G.R. Damodaran and the contributions he had made at the national
and international levels. He was a champion of the cause of emancipation
of illiteracy and poverty in and around Coimbatore. He had made
pioneering efforts for reorganising and developing Techincal Education
at the All India Level in the early seventies as the chairman
of Several Committes and Boards, constituted by the Government
of India.
During his tenure of membership of the Lok Sabha and the Tamil
Nadu Legislative Council spanning over two decades or more, Prof.
Damodaran served the cause of Technical and Management Education
with dedication and committment.
Ever since the mantle of Leadership of The GRD Trust had fallen
on the Correspondant Dr.D. Padmanaban, he has been taking a lively
interest in the overall growth and development of this College
which is aptly named after GRD. He is ably assisted by Mrs.Geetha
Padmanaban, the Secretary of the GRD Trust.
Due to the vision and foresight of Dr.D.Padmanaban and Mrs.Geetha
Padmanaban, the College has gone through the process of a meterotic
growth in the infrastructural and physical facilities.
The rapid development of the College within a short span of time
is mainly attributed to the devoted efforts of the Principal,
Dr.P.K.Murugan, the Director, Prof. J. Srikanth, its group of
highly motivated students and an eminently competent faculty members.

Graduation degree (10+2+3)or any other University degree recognised
as equivalent thereto.

Selection Procedure: Selection
is made on the basis of an entrance test. Candidates shortlisted
are called for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
